In an exciting new collaboration with MAYA Design and Clear Story, THE GRAY CIRCLE are proposing to completely transform Point State Park in central Pittsburgh by creating not only an audio-visual artwork exploring the area‘s history, but also a unique platform for interactive experiences.

Under Currents comprises the Portal: an LED floor grid under glass in the space beneath a bridge, plus the Fields of Light: a much larger ground mounted LED grid that expands the interactive environment across the open spaces of the park.

The intention of the installation is to evoke an emotional response in the viewer and subtly convey the concept using abstract images and sound. It is intended for people of all ages, ethnicities, and languages as a purely visual and auditory experience. It’s not didactic; it’s experiential.
