Since being appointed Hippodrome Digital Artist in Residence in 2013 Thomas D Gray and his team have been in charge of site-specific video art installations at the Hippodrome and continue to be busy thinking up new ways to use light and video art to create even more surprising interactive experiences for the visitor.

Highlights include a new 57 screen video art installation in the Atrium Casino that incorporates sharks, contemporary dancers, neon magic and paintings that come alive. We even convinced the Hippodrome’s owner to dress up in costume and become one of the paintings historical characters.

For the newly opened Lola’s Underground Casino in the basement we created a series of ghosts that reveal themselves in alleyways, stairwells and beyond mirrors. Life size 'hologram like' projections in the cage and working with beautiful showgirls a ‘live’ Parade Event performed nightly in the Atrium Casino.

All part of the ‘Hippodrome Experience’.
